Our  History

Hortensias was born in March 2017 as a family business in the community of Varablanca de Heredia, offering a commercial and tourist service: Lodging, Artisan Restaurant and Events Room.

The name of the brand HORTENSIAS, honors the most typical flower in the area. A shrub with large green leaves and abundant bouquets grouped that emanate a faint fragrance and surprise its varied colors. It is resistant to rain, which increases its unique beauty.

Among some meanings that are known about the flower of Hortensias are: Gratitude, Abundance, Tranquility, which we conjugate in the HORTENSIAS Experience.

For us, the hortensia flower represents the family unity and sense of community, values ​​that the company fosters and that are perceptible from the moment you have contact with any of our services and products offered.

Hortensias Chalets is a relaxing option, ideal for a romantic escape that combines the freshness of the climate, the mountain landscape and the tranquility that evokes the place itself. It is a mountain living experience at every moment of the day, experiencing fast weather changes: a beautiful and sunny sunrise, passing through a morning between the cloudiness and the rain, conjugated with the resplendent sunset and the freshness of the evening, sometimes surrounded by the mist of the mountain and others under the sky full of stars.

Inside the facilities, we have strawberry and uchuva plantations that, together with basil pesto, are distinctive ingredients in each dish of our restaurant. A culinary art that offers quality, excellence and good taste.

Our visitors can enjoy the trails of our strawberry and uchuva plantations, take with them a bit of this experience when buying jams, vinaigrettes, sauces and pesto with the original and handmade recipes of the HORTENSIAS family.
